Education pedagogy is the art and science of teaching, encompassing instructional strategies, methods, and approaches to facilitate effective learning. I focus on refining pedagogical techniques, incorporating diverse learning styles, and integrating technology to create dynamic, student-centered environments that foster critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning. I have crafted programs considering the new realities posed by the advent of technology and generative AI.
I have been associated with leading education institutions in India and internationally in delivering courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and professional levels. I have covered both teaching and training. Teaching involves imparting knowledge and skills to learners, emphasizing content delivery and understanding. Training, on the other hand, focuses on developing specific competencies through practical application and skill-building exercises.
Hybrid learning is today very popular. I have designed hybrid learning that involves blending traditional and online instructional methods to create a flexible, dynamic learning experience. I integrate technology, asynchronous and synchronous activities, and interactive assessments. My emphasis is always on learner engagement, collaboration, and personalized feedback to optimize the benefits of both in-person and virtual components in the educational process.
I have been instrumental in designing and launching: (1) A groundbreaking masters program, for the UK civil service, in systems thinking and leadership at the Birmingham Leadership Institute, University of Birmingham (UK). The work included taking care of pedagogy, content, marketing and student experience. (2) A specialized program for young leaders for the social sector at The India Leaders for Social Sector, The Convergence Foundation, New Delhi, India.
Student recruitment involves strategic outreach to attract prospective learners to educational programs. Both at the University of Birmingham and The India Leaders for Social Sector, I was instrumental in developing marketing strategies, highlighting program benefits, and engage with potential students through various channels. I ensured a seamless and positive experience for prospective students.
Research and publication involve conducting systematic investigations to generate new knowledge. My research focus on the philosophy, theory and application of systems thinking. I have published extensively in peer-reviewed academic journals contributing to academic discourse, informing practice, and advancing knowledge within the systems sciences. My works are used in several universities across the world.
